Mangaluru: The restoration work of the railway track that had come under the boulders and slurry due to a landslide was completed and normal passenger train services on Sakaleshpur-Subrahmanya Road Ghat section on Hassan-Mangaluru line resumed on Wednesday, July 10.

It may be noted that the services were disrupted on Tuesday following frequent landslides and flow of slurry with boulders on the track near Siribagilu.

Senior Divisional Operations Manager of SWR’s Mysuru Division, Sathish, in a communique, informed that the services were disrupted due to continuous sliding of loose soil along with boulders in the form of slurry on tracks owing to incessant rains. The track has been restored on Wednesday morning with day time trains in section running normally.

The Railways staff undertook massive restoration work at the location in hostile weather conditions to clear the slurry from the stretch of tracks between Siribagilu and Subramanya Road Railway stations on the Ghat section, he informed.
