Mangaluru: South Western Railway has announced reopening the passenger train service on Sakaleshpur- Subrahmanya road Ghat section from Sunday, August 25.
It can be recalled that the services on the section have been suspended due to landslips at several locations on the 55 – kilometre stretch following record rainfall in the area early this month. After the incident, senior railway officials and a large number of staff have worked day and night relentlessly in tough weather conditions to restore the track for safe movement of passenger trains.
As the restoration work has been completed now, senior divisional operations manager Sathish in a press release informed train services on Sakleshpur –Subrahmanya ghat section has resumed on Sunday, August 25.
