Mangaluru: Three more persons from the Dakshina Kannada district tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, May 23.

A 34-year-old woman from the Shirlalu village in the Belthangady Taluk and two Mumbai returnees are the three persons who tested positive for the disease. With this, the total number of cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has climbed to 65. One of the Mumbai returnees, a 55-year-old man, committed suicide a few days ago in a quarantine centre in Moodbidri. He tested positive for the disease last night.

According to sources, as the 34-year-old woman from Shirlalu had some respiratory issues, the locals asked her to undergo a Covid test. She tested positive today.

The other Mumbai returnee is a 30-year-old person who came to the city two days ago. His throat swabs were sent for testing and the results came back positive for COVID-19 today.
