Bantwal: Vittal police took three persons into custody for allegedly transporting cattle to Kerala near Kanyana here on Monday. The police have taken into possession four cows and a vehicle used for transportation.
The accused Moidu Kunhi(31), Hameed(28) and B A Moidu(38) residents of Kudlu in Kasargod have been taken into custody.
The arrested purchased cattle from Anekallu and were heading towards Kerala through Bedagudde-Paivalike. Instead of taking the Bedagudde-Paivalike route, they came to Kerala. Based on information from reliable sources, Sathish Shetty and a group of five people waylaid the vehicle and informed police.
Another case of assault was also registered by the police. Moidu Kunhi, Hameed and B A Moidu, as per their complaint, alleged that the group of six stopped their vehicle and assaulted them physically. Two separate cases have been registered at Vittal police station.
The injured are being treated at the Vittal community health centre, it has been informed. Station officer Prakash Devadiga is further investigating both the cases that have been registered.
