Mangaluru: Independent candidate from Mangaluru South Constituency Shrikar Prabhu on April 26, stated that though he was not contesting from BJP party’s symbol, his ideology would never change.
Addressing a press meet here in the city, Shrikar Prabhu informed that when he was a state executive committee member during Lok Sabha elections, he was expelled from the party without issuing any show cause notice or giving a proper reason for expulsion.
“BJP leaders expelled me from the party without following the party’s constitution. In this regard, I have written a letter to the party’s then state president Prahlad Joshi, national president and RSS leaders. But till date, I have not received a reply to my letter”, he added.
Shrikar also claimed that without following party’s constitution, expelling a party worker who has worked for more than 25 years, was an insult.
“To continue my social service and prove my existence, I need to contest the elections. People are approaching me with their problems as the so called ‘BJP representatives’ have failed to solve them. I am contesting the elections under the ideology of BJP. As I grew with the Sangh Parivar ideology. I cannot change it”, Shrikar said.
