Mangaluru: MLA and former minister U T Khader informed that it was the duty of all to abide and respect the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ayodhya issue while adding that those using the verdict for political gain were the real traitors.

Speaking to reporters at the District Congress office on Saturday, November 9, Khader said that he would welcome the verdict of the Supreme Court. “As we have the utmost respect for the Supreme Court, we need to respect its verdict as well. There is no question of victory or defeat as we are all Indians. However, one should not use the verdict for political gain and if anyone does so, he would be the real traitor,” he stressed.

Khader questioned BJP MLAs as to why they had not been laying foundation stones for different projects in recent days. “We have seen BJP MLAs keep on laying foundation stones for different projects which were sanctioned by the previous Congress government. But, all such projects are now over and MLAs are not able to get any fresh projects now. In order to secure the votes of the public, BJP takes credit for the work of the Congress government. But the public will teach a befitting lesson to the BJP in MCC elections,” he added.

Responding to senior leader B Janardhana Poojary’s remark that BJP was not a bad party, Khader said, “ Poojary is my political ‘Guru’ and we have been taught by Poojary that BJP is communal and a bad party. As Poojary kept on saying that BJP was a bad party with real examples, we had to be aware of the negatives of BJP. But, I am clueless now why Poojary has made that comment,” Khader said.

District Congress President Hareesh Kumar and other Congress leaders were present.
