Mangaluru: “People should support those who sacrifice their lives for the sake of the country and not for the sake of their own family,” said Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha on Sunday, January 20
Addressing the gathering at the valedictory programme of national level one-day conclave organised by the Mangaluru Chapter of Citizens Council at T V Raman Pai Hall, Pratap Simha said, “as Lok Sabha election is nearing now, many parties have decided to come together, but people should decide whether to support the ones who think for their country or the ones who think of their own family,” he said.
Explaining how local administration has been empowered to address the problems of people Pratap Simha said, earlier Gram Panchayat was receiving fund for the developmental works through Zilla Panchayats and Taluk Panchayats. But, after Modi government voted to power after 2014, Gram Panchayat has been receiving fund directly from central government, which has helped the Gram Panchayats to carry out developmental works easily and there is no scope for irregularities of the fund”, he informed.
While the UPA government was in power, farmers were forced to stage protest against the shortage of fertilisers throughout the country. However, during the administration of Modi government now, no single incident of protest has been found anywhere in the country, demanding fertilisers because the fertilisers are directly being supplied to the farmers from the fertiliser companies and there is no scope for middlemen now”, he informed.
