Sullia: As per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, security has been beefed up around the border areas of the town which connect to Kerala, here on Wednesday, March 13.
The election commission officers are keeping strict vigilance over the movement of vehicles in the border area, in order to track down illegal transportation of money and any other materials which is against the model code of conduct.
Check posts have been installed in border areas such as Jalsoor of Sullia-Kasargod, Narkoda road which connects Sullia-Panathuru and Sullia-Bandadka, Mandekolu of Sullia-Adoor and Kallugundi of Sullia-Madikeri.
The election officers along with the special squads and police are keeping an eye, particularly, on the carriage vehicles.
CCTV cameras have been installed in the check posts, EC officers said.
They have also informed the public not to worry citing that it was routine process EC guidelines.
