Mangaluru: The State Dharmika Parishad members defended the state government’s decision to cancel financial assistance provided to two government-aided private schools of Kollur Temple Sri Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka and Sri Devi Vidya Kendra, Punacha, which are being run by the trust led by RSS strongman Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

State Dharmika Parishad members Padmanabha Kotiyan and Jaganivas Rao stated that financial assistance was being illegally provided by the temples belonging to Muzrai Department to several private schools in the state. “Now the state government is stopping such practice. Last year, the government had stopped the financial assistance to Kadaba Saraswathi School. Then there were no protests or opposition, but why now? The government is not targeting Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. It had started this process last year itself.”

Muzari Department has a clear cut policy on this but the then BJP government had compelled the officers to release the grants, he added. Government will take action against such officers, he warned.
