Mangaluru: Sri Raghavendra Thirtha Swami, former disciple of Sri Sudhindra Thirtha Swami of Shree Kashi Math visited the residence of slain RTI activist Vinayaka Baliga here on Friday October 27.
Speaking to family members of Vinayaka Baliga, the Swamjii assured them his support and asked the family to continue the legal battle till justice was attained. He also mentioned about creating a charitable trust to help secure justice for Vinayak Baliga and assured of providing financial support to carry the legal battle.
“Those people who have murdered Vinayaka Baliga also made two attempts to murder me. Once in Pune while I was travelling in the car they attempted to kill me and make it look like a road accident, the second attempt being in Ernakulam during the ‘Mauna Vrutha’. Two people, carrying revolvers attempted to shoot me, but by the grace of god I am alive,” stated Sri Raghavendra Thirtha Swami having returned to the city nearly six yaears after a conflict had arisen with Sri Sudhindrateertha, the then head of Kashi Math.
Ramachandra Baliga, father of Vinayaka Baliga and his sisters were present.
