Sneha School to Celebrate Silver Jubilee on March 6

Mangaluru: Sneha School, Sullia which focuses on learning through mother tongue, is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Saturday March 6.

On the occasion, Dr Chandrashekara Damle, the visionary behind this unique school will be felicitated by Minister for fisheries, ports and inland water transport S Angara.

“The school was built with the vision of promoting learning through Kannada language by providing a holistic development to children,” said Dr Damle.

The school has received many awards including the Sandesha Prashasti, State award for achievement in curricular and co-curricular activities in 2015. The campus which is surrounded by the picturesque greenery, promotes learning by being one with nature.

In the morning session of the programme, nine teachers will be felicitated by senior students followed by a painting exhibition at 10:30 a.m.

The stage programme will be presided over by Prof M Balachandra Gowda, retired principal and honorary president of Dr Damle felicitation committee. As part of the 25th anniversary, a souvenir will be released by Suresh Kumar, Minister for primary and secondary education.

On the occasion, Dr. Damle’s Kannada novel, ‘Nelada Nantu’ will be released. Dr. K.V. Chidanand, president, Academy of Liberal Education, Sullia will release the novel. A commemorative volume release will be held by Dr M Mohan Alva, president of Alva’s educational institutions, Moodbidri.

Girish Bharadwaj, Padmashri awardee, school director and president of Dr. Damle felicitation committee and S.K. Ananda Kumar, vice-president of the school will be the guests of honour.

Jayalaxmi Damle, school principal, Dr. Vidyashambava Pare, school secretary and convenor, school directors Rekha Anand and Shrikara Damle and other felicitation committee members including working president P.B. Sudhakar Rai and secretary Kateel Sitla Ranganath Rao will be part of the programme.
