Mangaluru: A brother and his sister committed suicide by setting themselves with fire at Sangabettu village in Bantwal Taluk, on the late-night of Monday, June 15.
The deceased have been identified as Neelaiah Shettigar (42) and his sister Kesari Shettigar (39). According to the sources, both were in depression as they had been suffering from some illness. They remain unmarried also.
On Monday late night, they poured petrol and set the fire and kill themselves. They took this extreme step when their other brother and his family were sleeping in another room. On hearing the scream, they rushed to their rescue but they could not succeed to save them, sources informed.
Bantwal Rural police registered a case and investigating.
