Mangaluru: Following information in the Shreemathi Shetty murder case that chopped legs were found in a well, the police conducted a search here on Tuesday, May 14, but in vain.

The dog squad inspected a well located at Naguri at around 5 in the evening following speculations by the nearby residents.

During an inspection by the dog squad, a plastic bag was found but without legs in it.

According to police sources, though deceased Shreemathi’s scooter was found in Naguri area, the information regarding legs was found to be false.

“It was nothing but a rumour”, said the police sources.

However, the search is still on for the missing pair of hands and limbs.

Earlier, Shreemathi Shetty’s mutilated body parts were found in two different locations on May 12. Her head was found in a gunny bag near Kadri Park and torso near Nandigudda.

Later, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil had formed three teams to nab the culprits.
