Mangaluru: A short-film “Jeevana Vileena” by Medical Director of A J Hospital and Research Centre Dr. Prashanth Marla was screened for the second time at Big Cinemas on Sunday, December 15.
The movie of nine minutes sends out a good message about organ donation and calls the viewers to follow traffic rules and guidelines.
“Majabharata” fame Aradhana Bhat has played the lead role in this short-film. Dr. Prashanth Marla has produced, as well as directed the short-film, and Ganesh Rai Bantwal and Shashidhar Acharya are the associate directors.
The short-film does not contain any dialogue and music plays an important role. The music has been composed by veteran Sandalwood music director Gurukiran.
After watching the movie, Organ Donation India Foundation Chairman Mr. Lal Goel lauded the efforts of Dr. Prashanth Marla and his team in bringing out a movie on the need and awareness about organ donation.
Indian Coast Gaurd Karnataka Commander DIG Mr. S S Dasila in his message said “Organ Donation awareness is the need of the hour. This movie has silently given a message about giving life to others even after death. Let this movie reach more and more people and let the public understand the need for donating organs thus giving a new lease of life to others”.
CISF Mangaluru Airport DC Mr. Anil Kumar also appreciated the idea of releasing a movie on Organ Donation. “This movie and the message by religious heads following it will help to shed light on various myths relating to Organ Donation and will encourage the public to become part of this life-saving mission,” he said.
Lead actor Aradhana Bhat also spoke on the occasion and requested the viewers to spread the word about the movie so that it can inspire many others to take steps to become organ donors.
Karnataka Today Special Issue on Organ Donation released
During the occasion, the December month special issue of Karnataka Today monthly (News Karnataka’s print arm) on Organ Donation awareness was released by the guests present. The guest congratulated the team of Spearhead Media Group for initiating such issues for the benefit of the society at large.
