Mangaluru: A short-film "Jeevana Vileena" by Medical Director of A J Hospital and Research Centre Dr Prashanth Marla was released at Big Cinemas on Friday, November 22.
Though the duration of the film is only nine minutes, it sends out a good message about organ donation. It also asks viewers to follow the traffic rules and guidelines.
"Majabharata" fame Aradhana Bhat plays the lead role in this short-film. Dr Prashanth Marla has produced, as well as directed the short-film, and Ganesh Rai Bantwal and Shashidhar Acharya are the associate directors.
The short-film does not contain any dialogue and music plays an important role. The music has been composed by veteran Sandalwood music director Gurukiran.
Being present at the programme, Gurukiran said that one body can help many lives if the organs are donated to others after death. "There is a need to create awareness among the public about the importance of organ donation and this short-film will definitely play an important role in spreading this awareness," he added.
MP and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, and others also spoke on the occasion and congratulated the whole team.
RJs Nayana and Prasanna compered the programme and said that the short-film "Jeevana Vileena" is available to watch on YouTube and asked the people to support the good venture of the team through comments and likes.
Coastalwood artists Devadas Kapikad, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, Roopesh Shetty, Navya Poojary, Ln Kishore D Shetty, Mukhesh Hegde and others were also present.
