Mangaluru: "Though Dakshina Kannada district is considered as an educational hub, it is very rare that the candidates of this region take up and succeed in competitive exams like IAS, IPS, KPS among others. The newly started Shakthi Coaching Academy should help the students to get success in such competitive exams," said Shree Sharada Group of Educational Institutions President Prof M B Puranik, on Monday, February 11.
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating 'Shakthi Coaching Academy' at Classique Pride, Jayashri Gate in Bikarnakatte.
Prof Puranik said that though students from various other states like Bihar, Odisha and Assam clear competitive exams, the students from undivided Dakshina Kannada district rarely do so. Instead of that, they are keen on pursuing medical and engineering courses.
"Parents and teachers should encourage their students to appear for competitive exams, in order to place the students in the topmost positions," he said.
Academy coordinator Sudheer M K, explaining about the Coaching academy said, special coaching classes will be held to the students of SSLC and PUC. The Academy also intends to prepare students to appear for competitive exams.
Corporator Sabita Misquit, after releasing the poster of the Shakti Coaching Academy said that education plays a vital role in the welfare of human beings.
Dakshina Kannada district Pre-University Principal Association's president K K Upadhyaya after releasing the study materials of the academy asked the public to utilise the coaching academy.
Shakti Coaching Academy managing director K C Naik presiding over the programme, clarified that he has not started the academy with the intention of profit making.
