Several volunteers take part in Amala Bharatha Abhiyan

Mangalore:A cleanliness drive organised as part of the 31st programme of the Amala Bharatha Swachatha Jana Jagarana Mahayajna  of Sri Matha Amritanandamayi aimed at having a clean and beautiful society, was held at the Ladygoschen Hospital premises on September 22, Sunday. Dr Jeevaraj Sorake, President of the Amala Bharatha Abhiyan kickstarted the campaign.

In his inaugural address, Dr Sorake exhorted the student community to work towards maintaining  a clean environment. He also urged the students to sensitize the society on the need to keep the surroundings clean for a better India.

Dr Geetanjali, RMO of Lady Goschen Hospital, Sumitra, Head of the Nursing Department, Srinivas Shettigar, Vishwanath Putran, Premaraj, Yogish Salian, Geeta Balachander, Wing Commander Devaraj Belle and others were present.

Dr Devaraj welcomed the gathering and compered the programme.

Students of the Mangalore University college, CBM students of SDM college, Youth Red Cross Unit and Matha Amritanandamayi Seva Samithi members took part in the campaign actively and cleaned the surroundings.
