Several suggestions come up at Endosulfan committee meet

Mangalore:The Committee formed for the welfare of the Endosulfan affected people of the district held its first meeting at the DC office on September 21, Saturday.

DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai who is the Honorary President of the Samithi, Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader who is also  the Vice President of the Committee  participated in the meeting.

Several representatives who took part in the meeting were unanimous in demanding a permanent compensation for the Endosulfan affected people of the district.  Participants also put forth many suggestions including a re-survey of Endosulfan affected people,  government job to one member of the family of Endosulfan affected people, pension to the mothers of Endosulfan victims etc.

 DK District Minister Ramanatha Rai and Health Minister UT Khader who spoke on the occasion said a report would be submitted to the government based on the recommendations put forth at the meeting.

Zilla Panchayat President  Koragappa Naik, Shakuntala Shetty, Moidin Bava,  JR Lobo, Legislators, Deputy Commissioner N Prakash, Tulasi Maddineni, ZP Chief Executive Officer and others took part in the meeting.
