Seminar on drug trafficking organised by CISF, ASG at M’luru airport

Mangaluru: A seminar on “High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Investigation” was organised by the CISF and ASG at Mangaluru International Airport on Wednesday, February 26. The event was held in association with the Center for Narcotics & Psychotropic substances and Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

It mainly focused on how to integrate and synchronise the efforts of various law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders working at an airport, to combat illegal drug activities.

DIG Coast Guard S B Venkatesh inaugurated the seminar in the presence of Airport Director V V Rao and MAHE Pro-Chancellor Dr. H S Ballal.

CNPS head Dr. Shreekumar Menon, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology Department Associate Professor Dr. Ashwini Kumar, KMC Associate Professor Dr. Nirmal Krishnan, and Amit Kumar from CISF were present.

A total of 80 personnel attended the programme including CISF representatives, unit commanders, IOSL officials, Customs and Immigration officials, airport authorities.
