Mangaluru: “The 67th State-level Cooperative Week will be held from November 14 to 20,” said South Canara District Central Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank Dr M N Rajendra Kumar on Friday.
Addressing the media on November 13, he added that this year, owing to the pandemic, the event will be hosted indoors at then T V Raman Pai Auditorium, as opposed to the Nehru Maidan, where it used to be held in the pre-COVID times.
“A simple programme will commence on November 14 in Puttur, followed by the inauguration of the Co-operative Week on November 15 at the T V Raman Pai Convention Hall in Kodialbail, Mangaluru. The programme will be inaugurated by Cooperative Minister S T Somashekar and will be presided over by district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, along with other dignitaries like MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, DK Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra, Dr MN Rajendra Kumar, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, MLA U T Khader, MLA Dr Bharath Shetty, Mangaluru Police Commissioner Vikash Kumar Vikash, and others,” he said.
He also added that awards for the ‘Best Cooperative Associations’ will be handed over by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. Before the commencement of the progarmme, a colourful procession will be held from SCDCC Bank to TV Raman Pai Convention Hall from 9.30 AM.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath will hoist the Cooperative flag.
From November 16 to 20, various programmes will be held in Sullia, Bethangady, DK Milk Producers Association Kulshekar premises, Puttur Town bank hall and Bantwal, he added. He also assured that social distancing and other Covid-19 guidelines will be followed strictly during all the events.
