Mangaluru: Sanjeevini Charitable Trust, in collaboration with SKF Elixer India Pvt Ltd, donated five new water purifier plants to the Kateel Durgaparameshwari temple on Tuesday, March 10.

Elixer India Pvt Ltd chairman Ramakrishna Achar, after handing over water purifier plants to the temple, said, “Mineral drinking water plants can be used in homes, offices, educational and other institutions, industries etc. Mineral water filling counters that can provide pure mineral water to the people, to take anywhere and anytime, filled in non-plastic vessels, are the need of the hour. This is helpful in human resource development too, helping to preserve the people’s health and increase the nation’s wealth.”

He also informed that the installation of such filling counters will eliminate the menace of plastic bottles dumped everywhere, polluting the environment. “A clean and green environment ‘Swaccha Bharat’ can be created in this manner. The government spends Rs 1 lakh per annum to provide medical facilities to the people. By providing a litre of pure mineral drinking water at Rs 1. we can help preserve the health of the people and reduce this expenditure by half, thus saving billions of rupees,” he added.

Temple priest Harinarayanadasa Asranna, Dr Suresh Rao and Jayaprakash Mavinakuli were present.
