Addressing a rally in favour of Congress and Janata Dal (S) coalition candidate Mithun Rai at B C Road, he said, “It was during the Congress’ rule that education, Anna Bhagya for the poor, and several such schemes were launched. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led-government only knows to give speeches in the name of corruption.”
“We work on the secular principles”, he added.
Advocate Sudhir Kumar Maroli said, “The BJP Mangaluru Lok Sabha candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel has done nothing. He believes he can win using false propaganda.”
Former MLA Ramanath Rai said, “Because of false propaganda I lost the last Assembly elections. I am happy that I have served the people and the MPs who have been elected from Congress for Dakshina Kannada district have implemented developmental projects.”
He questioned the gathering, “Can you tell me one success story of the BJP MPs who have been elected from here?”
Mithun Rai said, “People ask me why do I wear a saffron shawl. I said that saffron represents secularism. It binds all religions together. If you give me a chance, I will prove myself by working for the people with utmost sincerity.”
District In-charge Minister U T Khader requested the electorate to vote for Mithun Rai to victory.
