Mangaluru: On the fourth day of the week-long “Seva Saptaha”, the students of St. Aloysius College organised a programme on “Love for Labour” on Friday, August 24. The student volunteers helped the non-teaching staff of the college in their daily work.
Seva Saptaha is being organised to commemorate the 450th birth anniversary of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, the patron saint of the college.
During the span of the week-long Seva Saptaha, the students have volunteered for different causes. On the first day, an awareness programme on ecology was held. On the second day, the students organised a programme to create awareness on interfaith love and harmony. On the third day, they presented an awareness programme on plastic and waste management.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Dr Praveen Martis, Principal of St. Aloysius College, commended the student volunteers for creating awareness on various subjects.
Fr. Pradeep Sequeira SJ, Finance Officer of St. Aloysius College said, “Even a small contribution from a person, who has very little, will be always great. When we give away material things, they are gone but when we give our love, compassion and service and spirit of sharing, they come back in abundance.”
Few non-teaching staff members were felicitated during the programme.
