SAC one among 50 ranked in The Week Hansa Survey 2018

Mangaluru: St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru has been ranked 22 in the science stream, with a composite score of 330, among the 50 best science colleges in India by The Week-Hansa survey for best colleges in India.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the college has figured within the 50 best colleges on an all-India basis.

The college ranks as the fourth best science college in the state and the first in the district.

The ranks are awarded by considering various parameters such as student-teacher ratio, infrastructure of the college, teachers’ qualification, placements and research, among other parameters.

The college takes part in important surveys of educational institutions annually, conducted by eminent research groups like Hansa, MDRA in association with The Week Magazine and India Today Magazines, NIRF of MHRD, Govt. of India etc.

It can be recalled that in the India Today – MDRA Survey, the college bagged the 44th place out of the top 100 science colleges in the country, and in NIRF, the college is in the 94th place for its overall performance – the only college from the Mangaluru, Udupi and Kodagu Districts to feature in the top 100.

According to college sources, there is an overwhelming desire from the parents and students to join St. Aloysius College this academic year for both PG and UG programmes. The college went online for admissions and fee payment this year, and thus eligible students from anywhere, including neighboring countries could apply for admissions. Around 3000 applications were received for the UG courses and 1500 for the PG programmes. Two integrated B.Com courses with intensive training for CA and ACCA, Masters in Finance and Analytics, Masters in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics, Masters in Big Data Analytics, Performing Arts are the new programmes introduced in the college from the current academic year.
