Rowdy-sheeter Bhavith Raj nabbed by police after opening fire

Mangaluru: Mangaluru Police have arrested notorious rowdy-sheeter, after opening fire at him in self-defence and injuring his leg, on Tuesday morning, July 9.

The arrested has been identified as Bhavith Raj of Adyar. Meanwhile three other accused namely Sandesh, Sanath and Ashwath managed to escape.

According to police sources,  Bhavith is an accused in an assault case and when the Kankanady Town police came to Adyar, to arrest him, he assaulted the police in an attempt to escape. Due to this, police were forced to fire for self-defence. The accused Bhavith Raj is a notorious criminal facing more than eight cases pertaining to riots, murder charges and robbery. The three others who succeeded to escape from the place also have criminal records. Sandesh has two cases including the murder case of Basheer.

A police constable named Vinod was injured in the incident and he was admitted to the hospital for the treatment.

Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil after visiting the hospital, where injured constable receiving treatment, informed that strict action will be taken against those who try to take law into their hands.
