Mangaluru: Eminent Educationist and Industrialist Dr. N Vinay Hegde has been conferred with the Rotary Annual State Level prestigious “Vandana Award” at a function held on 27.06.2020 at Ocean Pearl Hotel. The award is conferred on him in recognition of his exemplary achievements and in appreciation of his contributions in the field of education, industry, health care, and community service. The award is jointly instituted by the Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangalore City.
Dist. Incharge Minister, State Minister for Port & Fisheries Sri. Kota Srinivas Poojary graced the occasion as Chief Guest and said that Dr. Hegde’s Contributions and achievements in the field of Education are invaluable and commendable. Later he presented the award and congratulated him. He also lauded the Rotary Clubs community service. Later he released the Rotary Clubs New Flag.
Responding to the felicitation Dr. Hegde said that whatever he has achieved, he owes it to God’s grace, parents blessings, and honest work of his staff members. He also expressed his gratitude for Rotary for honoring him.
Rotary District Asst. Governor Rtn. Geethanand Pai graced the occasion as Guest of honour and he congratulated the club for securing Record 20 District Awards this year. He later released clubs weekly bulletin “Centor”. On this occasion clubs charter president Rtn. Premnath Kudva and Charter member Rtn. Sathish Pai were felicitated for serving the club for the past 34 years.
Chairman of the Award Selection Committee Dr. Devdas Rai in his introductory address revealed that the Annual Vandana Award is conferred on achievers and it is a part of the club's vocational service project. He congratulated Dr. Vinay Hegde on his unique achievements in the field of Education, Industry, Health Care and Community Service.
President-Elect Rtn. Prakash Chandra presided over the function. Secretary Rtn. K.M. Hegde presented the Annual Report, Past President Rtn. Santhosh Shet, District Rotaract Representative Rtr. Ganesh were present, Rotaract Club President Rtr. Sheldon Crasta proposed the vote of thanks.
