Mangaluru: Janata Dal (S) candidate for the South West Teachers’ Constituency S L Bhoje Gowda on May 25, alleged that the people elected as the teachers’ representatives had failed to solve the problems faced by the teachers. He was speaking to the media at a press conference at a private hotel here.
Highlighting the problems faced by the teachers in the constituency, Bhoje Gowda said, “The salary structure of the teachers has not been revised yet. This has caused a big divide between the salaries paid to government school teachers and others. The new National Pension Scheme (NPS) is also creating challenges for the teachers.”
Asking for the valuable votes, he promised to work for bringing qualitative change in education and ensuring welfare of the teachers. Bhoje Gowda also expressed his faith in the electorate and said he would definitely win the elections.
JDS candidate for South West Graduates’ Constituency Arun, District President Mohammed Kunhi, leaders Amarnath Shetty, Vasanth Poojary, Sushil Norohna among others were present.
