Udupi: The children of construction workers have a ray of hope in their life as they have been admitted to the Manipal Academy school yesterday. And to add to their happiness, they have been provided with the transportation facility daily, so that their education goes on smoothly.
The distict education dept. officials, after their visit to the manipal 10th block area held a meeting with the officials of the companies where the construction workers worked, and officials of Manipal university, and it was decided to admit the 34 children to the Manipal Academy school and the CCL company took the responsibility of the transportation facility to the students and an assistant has been appointed for the same.
The education dept. has arranged a special training of three months in their repective mother tongue’s and the dept. will appoint special teachers for the same and the dept. has planned to proide books, uniform and other stationeries for the children as informed by deputy director of education dept. Udupi.
