Sullia: A staffer at a private school in the Sullia taluk was booked by police for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. He has since been suspended by the school.

The accused has been identified as Anil, a resident of Devachalla village in Sullia taluk and a supervisor of a school at Yelimale. He is also friends with the minor girl’s father.

Reportedly, the Subramanya police informed that Anil, on December 10, sexually assaulted the minor girl after he lured with the promise that he would buy her a bicycle and teach her how to ride.

After the assault, the girl returned home and complained to her parents, who immediately alerted the school management.

TNIE reports that the school management suspended Anil when it learned that the girl’s parents decided to file a complaint with the police.

The girl’s mother filed a police complaint on Sunday, December 13, and a case has been registered against Anil under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 5(F)(M), 6, 10 of the POCSO Act 2012.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident is being carried out by the Subramanya Police.
