Mangaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Mangaluru on December 18. The visit will be a part of his proposed tour to all Ockhi cyclone hit pockets of the country. While his visit to coastal Karnataka is scheduled for Dec 18, he would visit other Ockhi hit regions such as Kerala, Lakshwadeep and Tamil Nadu on December 19.
On arriving in Mangaluru on Dec 18, Modi will leave for Lakshwadeep by a special flight from Mangaluru International Airport on Dec 19.
It was on November 30 that Ockhi struck and left more than 70 fishermen from the southern districts of Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam dead, while more than 250 of them are yet to be traced. Ullal and nearby areas in Dakshina Kannada district were battered by Ockhi.
