Mangaluru: A bus driver’s efforts to overtake a two-wheeler led to the senseless death of an 11-year-old girl when the said two-wheeler on which she was plying was hit by the bus. The incident occurred at Nanthoor here on Sunday, August 12.
The deceased is Madiha, a resident of Katipalla and daughter of Roshan and Noor Jahan.
Noor Jahan and two of her children, Tayyab Ansar (4) and Madiha, were on their way to a wedding on her two-wheeler when the accident occurred. They had just reached the Nanthoor when a private Udupi-Mangaluru bus tried to overtake them and hit their vehicle in the process. The mother and children suffered serious injuries but, Madiha died at the hospital as she had suffered severe head injuries.
Rohan and the couple’s elder daughter presently reside in Bengaluru where the former is employed and the latter is a student. Noor Jahan and the couple’s other two children live in a rented house in Surathkal.
