Mangaluru: In order to appease the rain gods for showers, a prayer service was held at the Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple here on Tuesday, May 14.
The prayer service was organised by Kalkura Prathisthana, various other organisations and members of the public.
Lord Manjunatha was offered Siyala (tender coconut) Abhisheka.
Special prayers were made for a good rainfall and yield of crops.
President of temple trust committee A J Shetty, President of Kalkura Prathisthana S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, temple priests Ramanna Adiga, Raghavendra Adiga, Ravi Adiga, temple trust committee members Roopa D, Suresh Kumar, Dinesh Devadiga and others were present.
Special Namaz by SKSF on May 15
The South Karntaka Salafi Movement (SKSF) will be organising a special Namaz at Nehru Maidan tomorrow at 7 AM for rains.
Shaik Saqib Saleem Umri will be conducting the Namaz, in which separate provisions are made for women.
The press note released by SKSF has requested to do Wudu (a type of ritual to cleanse the body) before attending the special prayer.
