Mangalore:The main challenges faced by India today are Poverty, Corruption and Interior and Exterior terrorism, said Margaret Alva, the governor of Rajasthan.
She was addressing the interaction on “Issues And Challenges Of The Decade and Solutions To Them” organized by the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KCCI) in the Hotel Gateway hall on 23rd of September, today.
She said.”Today in India 22 percent of the population is below the poverty line. It is the biggest challenge to eradicate poverty from such a large part of the population.
Along with poverty, even the corruption and internal and external terrorism have become the challenges to the country. While corruption has kept the common man in desperation, the interior and exterior terrorism have created the feeling of insecurity in him.”
Speaking on improving the Indian terrorism she said, “There is an ample scope for terrorism in India. We have improve the basic infrastructure in the tourism spots and even Mangalore can become a good tourism city”, she added.
It was an interactive session where the Governor answered the questions with patience.
KCCI president Shri. Mohemmed Ameen welcomed the gathering and explained the need to discuss the challenges faced by the country.
Ex-President of KCCI Latha Kini, Vice-president Er.Nigam B Vasani, Hon. Treasurer M Ganesh Bhat and others were present at the occasion.
