Mangaluru: Claiming that the UPA Government had plans of shutting down the Indian postal department, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the present Narendra Modi government has taken all measures to strengthen the department in various ways.

He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating 53rd joint divisional conference of All India RMS (Railway Mail Service) and MMS (Multiguard Multitasking Task) Group  Employees Union at Mangaluru RMS Recreation Club Hall on Saturday.

Nalin said, “after the technological advancement and introduction of mobile phones, the importance of postal department declined. However,  Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a new dimension to the postal department by introducing various welfare schemes of the government. Hence, measures will be taken to address their problems by bringing it to the notice of the departments concerned”, he assured.

Employees’ union honorary chairman P Sheshagiri Rao, while delivering introductory speech shed light upon how the RMS office was in dilapidated condition and how it was renovated with the help of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
