Mangaluru: Upon hearing news about his friend’s ill-health, former Union minister Janardhana Poojary prayed for him, only to find out that the person was actually healthier than ever, and that he had fallen for rumours.
On Saturday, January 11, Poojary offered a special pooja for senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes at the Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temple. While praying for Fernandes’ good health at the Kudroli temple, Poojary broke down, recalling his association with the Congress leader before the deity. After the pooja, he went to Rosario Cathedral to pray for his friend, only to find Fernandes standing right before him, looking healthier than even himself.
After going through a painful ordeal, Poojary was delighted to see his friend in good health and the two spoke for some time. They later embraced each other and parted ways, Poojary still upset that he had been misled about his friend’s health.
It can be noted Oscar is younger than Poojary. The former was born in the year 1941, while the latter was born in 1937. Poojary himself has not been keeping well for some time now. He is unable to walk on his own and he arrived at the Temple and the Cathedral with his colleagues, former MLAs Vijay Kumar Shetty, J R Lobo and some others.
It is well known that Poojary offers special poojas at the Kudroli temple when somebody falls ill. He had most recently offered pooja at the temple when he heard about AICC interim-president Sonia Gandhi’s ill health a couple of years ago.
