Police nab three ganja peddlers in Puttur, Belthangady

Puttur/Belthangady: Police nabbed three persons in two separate incidents, for peddling banned Ganja in the district. While one person was arrested in Puttur, two others were nabbed in Belthangady.

In the first incident Puttur police, on a definite tip off, stopped a Maruthi Omni car bearing registration number KA 21 P 2713 and confiscated 500 grams of Ganja. Mohammad Ashraf (37) son of late Abdul Khadar, resident of Mura Shantinagar in the town was taken into custody. He was later produced in the court by the police.

The police team was led by Sub-Inspector Omana N K under the guidance of Circle Inspector Mahesh Prasad.

In the other incident, two persons were nabbed while selling Ganja near Vani College which is close to the bus-stand.

Ayaz (26), a resident of Chikkamagaluru staying near Belal Masjid in Tipu Nagar and Jalal Hale, resident of Kuvettu in Belthangadi Taluk were nabbed by the police. Around 150 grams of Ganja was seized by the police in this incident.
