Police implement traffic diversions, parking areas for anti-CAA, NRC protesters

Mangaluru: Close on the heels of the massive protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and National Register of Citizens (NRC) at the Shah Ground in Kannur on January 15, the police department has arranged for traffic diversions to ensure the people are not inconvenienced.

According to the changes, vehicles coming from Udupi and plying towards Bengaluru have been requested to take the diversion at Padubidri towards Karkala – Dharmastala – Shiradi Ghat. Vehicles coming from Bengaluru to Mangaluru are requested to take a diversion at Melkar – BC Road via Konaje – Thokkottu – Mangaluru. Vehicles going from Mangaluru to Bengaluru are requested to take a diversion from Nanthoor – Pumpwell – Thokkottu – Konaje – BC Road. For those travelling from BC Road to Mangaluru, they should travel via Polali Kaikamba. 

Arrangements have also been made for the protesters to park their vehicles. Two-wheelers of the protesters coming from Mangaluru to the programme venue, can be parked at the ground, in front of the Jaguar Showroom. All cars and other four-wheelers coming from Mangaluru to the venue shall be parked at the Seizure Beedi Ground.

All buses coming from Mangaluru and BC Road to the venue shall be parked at the Mothisham Ground and all two-wheelers coming from BC Road shall be parked at the Kambli Parking Ground.

All cars and other four-wheelers coming from BC Road shall be parked at the Adyar Katte Jumma Masjid Ground. All police and emergency vehicles shall be parked at the Well Ring Parking and Shankar Vittal Parking. Two-wheelers coming from BC Road should be parked at Hamid’s Ground. Buses coming from BC Road and Farangipete shall be parked at Heritage Ground.
