Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch sleuths busted ganja smuggling racket and arrested two persons in connection to the case.
The arrested have been identified as Junaid (30), resident of Kannur district in Kerala and Abdul Kareem(25), resident of Balandoor, Puttur.
According to the police, the duo smuggled ganja from Andhra Pradesh via Bengaluru to the city, and were attempting to sell it among college students and general public. Acting on credible information the police nabbed both the accused and confiscated 9.5 kg ganja, 2 mobile phones valuing Rs 2,39,000.
Accused Kareem has been booked in a case of dacoity registered in Bellare police station and in another case registered under Indian Arms Act in APMC police station, Belguam.
