Mangaluru: The Kankanady Town Police arrested a 58-year-old man for violating the lockdown guidelines by roaming in a car with a press sticker pasted on it, on Sunday, April 5.

The arrested accused has been identified as Hussain Ali alias Ali Hussain, son of Zakir Hussain and a resident of Bengaluru.

Sources from the Kankanady Town Police department informed that a car was roaming in the city in a suspicious manner. The car had a sticker that read ‘The Hindu’ on its glass. The police waylaid the car after they grew suspicious and found that Ali Hussain was not a member of the media fraternity.

He had been using the press sticker just to avoid getting arrested by the police.

The accused was produced before a court, police sources added.
