Mangaluru: The Mulki police and anti-rowdy squad arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in the brutal murder of 36-year-old businessman Abdul Latheef, on Saturday, June 6.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Hasim (27), Nasir Alias Riyaz (33), both children of Hamza, a resident of Karnad Mulki, Abubakar Siddique (27), resident of Bada village in Udupi district and Mohammed Razim (24), son of M K Mohammed, a resident of Bappanadu in Mulki.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that an old rivalry was the motive behind the brutal murder.
The accused and their associates attacked Abdul Latheef and other two others, Muneer Karnad and Hazaj, when they arrived in Mulki on Friday evening. While Abdul Latheef died at the spot, Muneer and Hazaj were injured and were rushed to a private hospital. Their condition said to be stable, sources informed.
Abdul Latheef owned a jewellery shop at Moodbidri and he had recently married Muneer Karnad’s daughter.
