Mangaluru: City’s leading constructions group, Citadel developers have come up with a unique waste management system in its 'Woodville' apartments at Bondel, in association with Daily Dump, a leading brand providing waste management solution.
With this Citadel has emerged as pioneer in introducing eco-friendly living in the city.
Citadel developers installed ‘Aaga’ a community composting unit at ‘Woodville’ at a cost of Rs 70,000, which can serve about 25 families.
An awareness program about waste management too was held here on Saturday, August 27.
Daily Dump, the brain child of Poonam Kasturi in Bengaluru has designed various products for eco-friendly waste management. Using the facility, one can convert organic waste into compost in the backyard of their home.
Siddharth, Sales and Marketing Head of Daily Dump through a video presentation explained the working and the benefits of the facility launched at Woodville. “More than 60 per cent of waste in Indian homes comes from the kitchen. Waste can be covered to compost using the units of Daily Dump and use them as manure,” he said.
Terracotta pots that can be used for composting are the main products of Daily Dump. The pots convert waste into compost within two months without giving off any foul odour. The pots come in different versions that can be matched with the family’s size and the volume of waste that is generated in one’s kitchen.
In the facility installed at Woodville, all one has to do is dump the kitchen waste in it and add remix powder daily on the top. Compost will be ready for use as manure.
Citadel Developers partnering with Daily Dump are set to change the city’s waste management system!
