Mangaluru: While discussions on installing CCTV cameras and raising the railings of bridges, after the death of Siddhartha, the founder chairman of ‘Café-Coffee Day’ are being held, yet another person jumped from the same bridge and attempted suicide, on Sunday, August 4. However, he was luckily rescued by the local fishermen.
The youth who attempted suicide has been identified as Girish (32) a resident of Urwa Store. He originally hails from Kadur in Chikmagaluru district. Police inform that Girish jumped into Nethravathi river from the bridge at Jeppinamogaru, on Sunday evening. When the local fishermen noticed this they rushed to the spot and rescued him.
DCP Lakshmi Ganesh told Newskarnataka.com that the reason for his extreme step is yet to be ascertained, however, his condition was stable. Lakshmi Prasad also informed that policemen would be deployed on Nethravathi bridge in Jeppinamogaru for patrolling.
