Mangaluru: The Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation has announced that they will provide rice and other ration items to those Yakshagana artistes who are struggling to lead a normal life after Yakshagana shows were banned in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district owing to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

As Yakshagana shows have been banned in both the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, hundreds of Yakshagana artistes from both the Thenku and Badagu forms, stopped performing. Due to this, they were left jobless and are now finding it very difficult to lead their lives normally.

Taking notice of this, the Patla Foundation called an emergency meeting and decided to extend a helping hand to the Yakshagana artistes. As per the decision, the foundation will provide 25 kgs of rice and other ration items to the struggling Yakshagana artistes.

Those artistes who want to utilise this opportunity can contact Patla Sathish Shetty (9900371441), Purushothama Bhandary (9845172865) and Sudesh Kumar Rai (8197737575).
