Mangaluru: The Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust (R) spent around Rs 20 lakh on groceries and disbursed them to over 1,000 Yakshagana artistes of the, who have been left without work due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
Different units of the Foundation disbursed groceries to Yakshagana artistes of the Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga and Kasargod districts.
After disbursing the groceries, founder of the Foundation, Patla Sathish Shetty after the Yakshagana artistes to stay at home for the sake of society. “All Yakshagana artistes should cooperate with the government’s decision and directions regarding the lockdown,” he said.
Trust general Secretary Purushothama Bhandary, treasurer Sudesh Kumar Rai, vice president Manu Rao, joint secretary Rajeeva Poojary Kaikamba, organising secretary Navaneeth Shetty Kadri, Uday Kumar Shetty Kerekatte, Ravichandra Shetty Ashoknagar, Ashwith Shetty, Sathish Shetty Ekkar, Jagadish Shetty Car Street and others helped disburse the kits.
