Over 30 cases pending against gangster Ravi Poojary in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Over 30 cases have been registered against one of the most wanted underworld dons Ravi Poojary, in the Mangaluru Police Commissionerate limits alone, pertaining to murder, threat and extortion.

Close on the heels of Ravi Poojary’s arrest making news, Mangaluru Commissioner of Police T R Suresh told the reporters on Friday, February 1, that based on a request by Mangaluru Police, the Interpol has issued a red corner notice against Ravi Poojary in the year 2012. As it should be renewed once in five years, it was done in the year 2017, he informed.

Meanwhile, T R Suresh said that the arrest had not been confirmed so far officially. “We are constantly approaching higher officials to confirm this. However, we are not officially informed about the arrest”, he said.

Among the 30 more pending cases against Ravi Poojary, the murder of advocate Noushad Khasim and extortion in a shipping company are the major ones, said T R Suresh.
