One held for motorcycle theft; Two stolen motorcycles recovered

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru South police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with motorcycle theft and have seized two motorcycles from his possession on Saturday, October 13.

The arrested has been identified as Raveendra alias Ravi alias Dabbi Ravi, a resident of Arikkadi, Kumble in the Kasargod district. Acting on a tip-off, a team of police personnel headed by inspector Shareef and sub-inspector Manjula R arrested the accused from Pandeshwar and seized two stolen motorcycles, worth an estimated Rs 75,000, from him.

The arrested accused confessed to the theft during the interrogation. There are two pending cases against him, one in connection with the POCSO Act and annother in connection with motorcycle theft at the Kumble police station, police sources said.

A case has been registered at the Mangaluru South police station in this regard and investigations are on.
