Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch sleuths busted a fake marks card racket in TC Road, Thokottu and arrested one in connection to the case.
The arrested accused is Godwin(33) resident of TC Road Thokottu, Ullal.
According to the police, Mangalore Institute of Technological Science Educational Institution was issuing fake marks cards. Institution’s Managing Director and Principal Askan Shiek, Director Asrar Shiek are still at large. The institution has been running since from 2016. The institution used to provide professional courses and used to issue fake certificate ranging from Rs 10,000 to 45,000 for those who go abroad. Fake marks cards pertaining to SSLC, PUC, Degree , Diploma courses were issued by the accused.
Second incident
Earlier police had arrested Askan Shiek in a fake marks card from Pumpwell. Police had arrested him for preparing fake marks of various universities. He had established Mangaluru Institute of Technological Science (MITS) educational Institution in 2016. From 2013 he was producing fake marks card. Accused have produced more than 150 fake marks card and distributed to various people.
Police have confiscated fake marks card, laptop, three seals, a printer, printing papers, mobile phones from the accused.
