Mangaluru: I am in the political arena, and hence I will not talk about anyone’s personal issue, said BJP State President and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel while asked to comment on State Congress President D. K. Shivakumar slapping a Congress worker on Saturday.
He was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of flagging off Vistadome coach service between Mangaluru Junction – Yeshvantpur – Mangaluru Junction here on Sunday July 11. He said, “the society is all the time watching us. The party workers and public come to us with demands, aspirations and desires. It is our culture to treat them with respect when they approach us and in my opinion no politician should act in a brash manner, and cross their limits.” Such behaviour is not right and this shows the culture of Congressmen, he noted.
Elaborating further, Kateel recollected that this was not the first attack by the Congressmen. Siddaramaiah behaved inappropriately at Vidhana Soudha, which is equal to a temple for politicians. It is no surprise that such people would misbehave with their own party workers. No one is alleging that Congress is the party of rowdies, but sadly their behaviour is showcasing what they are. If we look back in history, they were not only into rowdyism but into everything corrupt, Kateel alleged.
