Mangaluru: The reports of the state government announcing cash reward of Rs 10 lakhs to Mangaluru Police for bravely handling the CAA protest violence and controlling the rioters has been refuted by Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Dr P S Harhsa.

Clarifying to the media on Thursday, December 26, Dr P S Harsha said, “I request the public to kindly not lend their ears to any kind of rumours and check the facts before sharing any news on social media. The images of state government rolling out a notification stating that 148 police personnel who fought against the rioters of CAA protest will be given Rs 10 lakhs is far from truth. We have not received any such notification. This is fake.”

Several media have flashed the news.
