Nitte donates Rs 80 lakhs for Kodagu, Kerala deluge victims

nitte donation 1Mangaluru: The Nitte Education Trust, together with Nitte (Deemed to be University), donated a sum of Rs. 80 lakhs towards the flood relief efforts for the devastated Kodagu district of Karnataka and some districts of Kerala.

Pro-Chancellor of the University, Vishal Hegde, on September 12, handed over a cheque of Rs. 40 lakhs to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy towards the Kodagu flood relief fund. Another cheque of Rs. 40 lakhs was given to the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarai Vijayan on September 29.

Nitte (Deemed to be University) also sent medical teams to the affected districts in Karnataka and Kerala with first aid and emergency medical kits to treat the patients. The medical team included specialists from Orthopaedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology Dentistry and others, to provide proper treatment to those affected in the aftermath of the devastating floods.
